JAPAN! Give Gifts of Cherry Trees, Not Refugees! FREE JAMAL SABERI!

Camp out with us virtually in front of the Japanese Embassy while we wait for Sunday’s protest!

Yes, we are doing it again. Mission Free Iran is staging another protest in front of the Japanese Embassy in Washington DC (2520 Massachusetts Ave NW) on Sunday March 28st at 3pm to demand a halt to the deportation proceedings against Mr. Jamal Saberi, a vocal and long-time activist against the depredations of the Islamic Republic.

RSVP via Facebook

We told Japan that we would not leave its doorstep til Jamal was free. And we meant it.

The theme of this protest refers to the Japanese government’s gift to the United States of hundreds of cherry trees that now bloom around the Tidal Basin in Washington DC. At this time of year, when those cherry blossoms are in full bloom, Japan is remembered fondly for their gift. Thousands of people visit our fair city to enjoy the blooming trees.

We will use this occasion to remind the world that all of Japan’s gifts to foreign governments are not as lovely. We think Japan should stick to giving gifts of cherry trees. We think it is reprehensible for them to give gifts of refugees to the murdering Islamic Republic.

On Sunday, March 28, we will stand outside of the Japanese Embassy to demand a halt to the deportation proceedings against Mr. Jamal Saberi, a vocal and long-time activist against the depredations of the Islamic Republic.

We thank everyone for their support, and we hope to see you out there.
Thanks,
Mission Free Iran
